Ana Gallardo was born in 1958 in Argentina. She lives and works in Buenos Aires. She is represented byIgnacio Liprandi in Buenos Aires.
The compulsion to construct a narrative, be it textual, aural, visual, or all three, as an exorcism or magic spell, is at the heart of Ana Gallardo’s work. Her works are marked by a strong spirituality, in that they almost religiously respect the emotions or objects that shelter them or are sheltered by them. Ana Gallardo reactivates these emotions and objects by invoking their memories, by delicately gathering these relics of intimate stories, of love and exile, solitude and absence. In this way, she succeeds in reeducating the wounded part of our memory.
