Executive Director of the Joburg Contemporary Art Foundation and curator-at-large of the gordonschachatcollection

Clive Kellner is curator-at-large of the gordonschachtcollection. Previously he was director of the Johannesburg Art Gallery (2004-2009), co-founder and director of camouflage gallery and editor-in-chief of coartnews magazine. He was one of the organisers of the 2nd Johannesburg Biennale (1997). His curatorial projects include a monographic survey of Kendell Geers at the Haus der Kunst (2013), Thami Mnyele & Medu Art Ensemble Retrospective (2008), Berni Searle monographic exhibition (2006), Yinka Shonibare (2001) Foto Biennale Rotterdam (2000) and the 13th Videobrasil festival, Sao Paulo (2000). He was a member of the jury of the Paul Huf Award for photography at FOAM, Amsterdam (2009) and a jury member of the Bamako Photo Biennale, Mali (2007). He has written and lectured extensively on contemporary South African art.
