Inci Eviner was born in Turkey in 1956. She lives and works in Istanbul. She is represented by Nevgallery in Istanbul.
Inci Eviner’s work is centered on the body and founded in drawing, primarily Chinese ink on paper. These highly figurative drawings establish the inescapable foundation for each of the artist’s projects. She also creates large-format drawings on canvas.
In recent years, the artist has worked with film with an inlay technique she appropriated to blend existing motifs and work from the studio. Her work is engaged with contemporary society and deals with issues of identity, in particular female identity through social, cultural, historical or political perspectives.
