Adrian Villar Rojas
Poems for Earthlings
Jardin des Tuileries, Paris
Curator: Marie-Laure Bernadac, Musée du Louvre
09.09.2011 – 24.10.2011

Influenced by contemporary literature, classical culture, science fiction and comic strips, the work of Adrián Villar Rojas deals with the theme of the end of humanity: what will remain after the end of the world, after the end of art. In a time conceived as a loop, Poems for Earthlings appears as a ruin, the remains of a future civilization. This work shared this same theme with eleven other sculptures that were presented in the Argentine pavilion of the Venice Biennial in 2011. Like other monumental sculptures by Adrián Villar Rojas, Poems for Earthlings is a short-lived work that will be destroyed.
